2018 Reunion Dates & Location Selected!

63725.jpg

The Reunion Committee (mostly Michelle!) did A LOT of research and calling to hotels, cabins and resorts in Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Kentucky. The decision to locate the reunion at Evergreen Resort in Michigan was not made lightly. We have taken as many issues into consideration as possible and believe that Evergreen meets our needs best out of all the many options we considered.

A few reasons why we selected Evergreen Resort:

  1. The drive time from OH and IL is much more reasonable than to WI, KY or other locations in MI (5-6 hours) and there are direct flights from Denver to Traverse City, MI which is about an hour drive to Cadillac.
  2. The resort is in close proximity to two lakes for boating, swimming and other water activities. There are golf courses and a river for canoeing and one with rapids for the adventurous members of the group. There is also a hiking trail that starts on the resort that goes right into a national forest.
  3. The room rates were among the most affordable we found and include a lot of amenities such as a pool, free breakfast, mini fridges, and microwaves.
  4. BONUS! There is a room we can use at no charge for Reindeer Games in the evening so that we can be boorish louts (as Bud is so fond of calling us) without disturbing other guests.

Details:

The resort offers a variety of room types and sizes. We were able to get discounted room rates due to our group size. (Friday & Saturday: $119 standard/$149 junior/$169 deluxe | Sunday: $104/$129/$139)

Next Steps:

Book your room! This is a popular place and rooms are already going fast for the 2018 season. To take advantage of our Yeagle Reunion room rate you will need to use booking id 23671. The group name is "Yeagle Reunion." Our room rate is based on all of us staying at the resort. Call 800-634-7302 to book and don't miss out on the fun this summer!

2018 Reunion Info Coming Soon

The 2018 reunion will be held in July or August 2018. The planning committee is investigating several locations. We are trying to find a place that is within driving distance of Illinois and Ohio, reasonably priced, and has a place where we can gather for reindeer games. As soon as we have narrowed down options, we will share information. Stay tuned!

Loding Update

Bummer! I just received notice from the Lake Geneva Motel that they are NOT accepting reservations for summer 2015 until MARCH 2015. So, hold off until after the holidays to make reservations there. Of course, feel free to investigate your own options. If you discover a hidden gem, feel free to post the info here!

A Shout Out to a Few Folks

Even though the reunion is about a year away many people have already been hard at work trying to organize the Yeagles (which is a lot like herding cats). A few special mentions:

  • Natalie for kicking this whole thing off and doing the hard work of gaining consensus for a location and date.
  • Mamie, Maggie and Natalie for researching possible places to stay in Lake Geneva.
  • Debbie Kay for sending out the Lake Geneva Visitor's Guides.
  • Bud for providing the initial batch of photos and committing to scanning even more to be posted in the months ahead.
  • Rosie for her unfailing enthusiasm and burning desire to play croquet.

Making Plans - Lodging

Hi everyone. I hope you're all enjoying these last weeks of summer. I'm sure in the midst of everything else you've got going on you've had time to read through your Lake Geneva Visitor's Guide. But just in case you haven't, several us have spent quite a bit of time researching lodging options and have come up with two locations that seem like good choices. These are just suggestions. Everyone is welcome to do their own research and select the location that works best for you and yours. We just wanted to share the results of our research.

I do encourage you to make a reservation sooner rather than later while there are still lots of options available. While the reunion is not scheduled for the peak, peak season, it is still a popular time according to the hotel and motel folks I've spoken to in the research process.

Love to you all,
Emmy
